What Leads To Success?
My friends always seem to ask me
such a question. I must admit I am neither
a motivator by profession nor do I have a background in Psychology. Based from hearing lectures on motivation and
based on my experience as a Court Interpreter, I’ll try to put it in the
simplest English language for all to understand. Below, I have listed some of the most
important elements on how to gain success.
1. Passion:
You must have
passion on the things you do. You must
be driven by passion and you have to do your work for the sake of loving doing it. Passion is inherent in us. You just need to trigger it out from your
heart.
2. Hard
Work:
Work hard and
take it as a challenge and not a burden to you.
You must have a lot of fun doing your work and it will be a piece of
cake for you. It’s all in the mind. If you want to be successful, you must really
work hard. There are no other alternatives. It’s the only choice you have.
3. Focus:
Stay focus on
what you are doing. Take and solve one
thing or one problem at a time. No need to hurry. Ask questions and
opinions, be curious, stay connected with others if you need their assistance, and
above all be a good listener when it comes to communication.
4. Persist:
You must be
persistent on whatever things you are doing.
Never give up. Tell yourself you
can do or overcome every obstacle you are facing with. If others can excel, you too can. If others can overcome their problems, you
too can overcome your problems. Most
importantly, believe and have faith in yourself.
5. Ideas:
You must be
creative in generating ideas. This can
be achieved if you have a healthy mind and a healthy body. Always remember, we
are born with creativity inside us.
6. Good:
You must be good
to yourself. When I say ‘good’, I mean
you must have your own self esteem. You
must brush aside your egos and all the negative elements such as greed, selfish,
arrogant, ignorance and what have you.
7. Push:
You must
push ..
push .. push
.. push yourself. For example, you must push yourself through
your shyness or self doubt. Push
yourself to finish your unfinished business or work. If you are facing difficulties in pushing
yourself, don’t worry. That’s why God
invented Mothers. Your mother can push
you if you need her help any time of the day.
8. Serve:
You need to serve
others something of value and not yourself.
For example, “I am privilege to serve the public as a Court
Interpreter”. You must serve with good
intention. There’s no need to expect
something in return because God will reward you for your kindness in serving
people.
9. Practice:
Practice makes
perfect. Nothing comes easy if you don’t
practice .. practice .. practice. There
is no shortcut to everything.
So, there you
have it. May you guys gain benefits from
reading this article.
